BTS' Jimin to Release Vinyl Edition of Debut Solo Album 'FACE'
BTS member Jimin is going to release a special version of his first solo album 'FACE' on vinyl. The album first came out in March, and it had a super popular song called 'Like Crazy' that made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Jimin, from BTS, announced this today through BIGHIT MUSIC on October 12. 'FACE' was Jimin's first solo album after he had already shared some songs on Soundcloud.
You can pre-order the vinyl version of 'FACE' right now in South Korea and Japan. In the United States and Europe, you can start ordering it on October 18 at 11 am KST (10 pm ET). They will begin shipping the vinyl on December 8 in Korea, December 15 in Japan, and January 12, 2024, in the US and Europe.
The Weverse announcement said, "Fans really loved 'FACE' because it had Jimin's real emotions from the past two years. To say thank you for all your support, we're putting 'FACE' on vinyl."
There's more news about Jimin too. He's going to release a documentary film called 'Jimin’s Production Diary' later this month. This film will show how he made the album and give us a closer look at Jimin as a person. You'll see what he was thinking and feeling while he worked on the album. They've already shared one teaser trailer, where you can see Jimin working in the studio on his music. He says, "I can say that there are more things I want to do." 'Jimin’s Production Diary' will come out on Weverse on October 23.
'FACE' made history because it's the first time a solo artist from South Korea got a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song that did it was 'Like Crazy,' and it even became a top 10 hit in the UK.
In a review by NME, they gave 'FACE' four stars and said, "Jimin wanted to challenge himself on this record and show something darker and more raw. He used different sounds and styles in the five songs, which added new dimensions to his artistry and created an intriguing atmosphere. If Jimin's goal was to be more creative and bring out his emotions in these songs, he did it."
